
Clean air is vital to an athlete and if our air is polluted, we put that poison in our lungs and it is our lungs we use to get that much-needed oxygen to our blood to fuel our bodies.
It is important to me because as a Cree First Nation man we need to take care of and have respect for Mother Earth. It is our responsibility to make sure she is around for my children and their children and so on.
Nicknamed 'The Bullet', Kent started boxing 20 years ago. His hero growing up was Muhammad Ali, and that is what started his interest in the sport. Since he started boxing with a knockout win in his first bout, Kent has had over 120 matches, winning over 85% of them. Kent's goal has always been to represent Canada an Aboriginal people at the Olympics. In 2002, he won a gold medal at the North American Indigenous Games in Winnipeg. While he qualified for the Olympic Games in 2000, he was unable to go. He is currently attaining his black belt in Tae Kwon Do and plans to compete nationally. Kent is currently opening a Dojung (School) to teach Tae Kwon Do and Boxing.
