With Global Warming a growing concern, Karen can't imagine a life for herself or her growing family without snow capped mountains to enjoy such wonderful winter sports at skiing....
Growing up on the ski slopes in the winter & at the lake in the summer, Karen has spent most of her life outdoors and has always had a love of the environment. Her interest in spreading the word about preserving our precious planet is important especially now that Karen has children & would like them to be able to enjoy a life similar to what she was fortunate enough to experience.
Karen is a successful 5 year member of the Canadian Alpine Ski Team and her list of accomplishments include Provincial, Canadian & North American Champion, numerous top 5 finishes on the World Cup Alpine Ski Ciruit and finished 11th overall in the world during one ski racing season. Her specialty was the Downhill event where she reached speeds up to 140 kph. One of Karen's many hightlights in her life was representing Canada at the Winter Olympics in Sarajevo, Yugoslavia. She also reached the provincial level of competition in figure skating & water-skiing. Speaking of challenges, this is the biggest one yet - Karen is the very proud Mom of three.
