Why the environment is important to me:

Ever tried running during a busy time of day? Cars stink! It doesn't smell good, nor is it good for us or the environment. Athletics is in an outdoor sport - we need clean air to train and to compete. As kids and young adults playing outside and playing sports, it is even more important as the respiratory system isn't fully developed - making you more at risk to the poor air quality and creating problems

Why am I a Clean Air Champion?

I am a Clean Air Champion because I care about the environment. It is our duty to make our world livable (and breathable!) for future generations - it matters even more now that I have two little kids! As an athlete I have an opportunity to put my words into action and encourage others to care also. It isn't 'hard' work and doesn't require extra time, it's just being a little more conscious and maybe a little more physical activity for each us that won't hurt us at all!!
