While standing in line awaiting a bank machine in the United States a lady overheard that I was from Canada. She immediately recalled a trip she once took to Ontario and was overwhelmed with the feeling of "fresh" air. She has visited it once and could not believe the feeling she encountered, with respect to our air quality! Training daily in the outdoors I have witnessed this feeling on the decline. My office is the roads of Canada, where I do my training and competing. It is therefore REALLY critical and very important to me as am athlete.
With each passing day we all witness our Canadian air quality steadily decline. As an athlete that trains daily outdoors, I can't help but feel disappointed with the decisions we make as a whole. Being a Clean Air Champion allows me to get my message across to people who don't fully understand the implications our daily decisions are having on our world... our home. At the end of the day, our quality of living is directly related to our air.
