Program: HSBC Clean Air Achievers

Client: Arbour Lake School
Location: Calgary, AB
Description: Jessica Groeneveld, a slalom canoe/kayaker, placed 2nd at the Pan American championships in 2008 and qualified Canada its Beijing Olympic spot at that race. She will present the HSBC Clean Air Achievers program to the participants using the Clean Air Achievers PowerPoint presentation. Students will be introduced to air quality, climate change and personal health issues that they can improve by changing their modes of travel to active, less polluting modes. The Champion will return to the school one month later for a celebratory visit - to hand out certificates and recognize the students for their hard work.

Client: Juno Beach Academy
Location: Calgary, AB
Description: Mike Kwiatkowski, winner of United States Amateur Nationals in Giant Slalom and three-time winner of the United States Collegiate Nationals in snowboarding, will return to this school to celebrate the students' successes in the HSBC Clean Air Achievers program. Mike will talk to the students about their experiences, reward them with certificates of achievement and encourage them to be clean air achievers for life!

Location: Edmonton, AB
Description: Meaghan Buisson, 47 time National Canadian Inline Speed Skating Champion and World Record Holder in the Solo Marathon will speak to participants of The Lung Association's (AB & NWT) EnviroBLAST program about air quality issues and how it effects health and the environment. As an asthmatic athlete, Meaghan will also talk about how air quality has affected her training and share some of her experiences with the group.

Description: Jessica Sedlock, former member of the National Biathlon Team, transitioning into the sport of track running, will present the HSBC Clean Air Achievers to a Grade 9 class of students at Reynolds Secondary School. Jessica will speak to the students about air quality, climate change and how they can help improve it by taking more active modes of transportation. Jessica will also show the students how to use the HSBC Clean Air Achievers website to track their travel trips.

Description: Jessica Sedlock, former member of the National Biathlon Team, transitioning into the sport of track running, will present the HSBC Clean Air Achievers to a Grade 6/7 class of students at Shoreline Middle School. Jessica will speak to the students about air quality, climate change and how they can help improve it by taking more active modes of transportation. Jessica will also show the students how to use the HSBC Clean Air Achievers website to track their travel trips.

Description: Mike Jones, Downhill Mountain Bike racer, will be presenting the HSBC Clean Air Achievers program to Grade 6 students at Green Timbers Elementary school. Mike will show the students how to input their trips into the web based trip calculator and how they can reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. He will speak to the students about air quality, climate change and health.

He will also inspire them to begin traveling by more active transportation to reduce their personal greenhouse gas emissions. Finally,Rob will show the students how they will enter their travel trips into the online greenhouse gas calculator to see their reductions.

Margaret will speak to the students about air quality, climate change and how they can help by taking more active, less polluting modes of transportation. Margaret will show the students how to enter their daily travel trips into the greenhouse gas calculator to see how they are making a difference.
